BOSS operating system is derived from the debian linux to mold it for the open source software that can be used throughout India.There are many useful packages included such as mailserver,sms server,webserver,file server,phpmyadmin etc. The OS supports both AMD as well as Intels x86 architectures.The desktop Environment includes the gnome and kde.There is also a wide range of hardware support.Documentations are also available for BOSS.
The BOSS operating system supports almost all the regional languages in India such as hindi,tamil,gujarati,telugu etc which makes the operating system more accessible throughout the country.Also there is educational version known as eduboss.
The BOSS operating system also includes the synaptics package manager which will assist in installing new software packages as necessary.The onscreen keyboard with regional language support is an appealing feature.The BOSS 3.0 is the latest version that is being available.
